I hope everyone is doing well. As the fall season winds down, there have been some changes going on in our league for the spring season. As a board, we find these changes are for the better of our program and the programs throughout York County. First, we want everyone to be aware of the fact that the Susquehanna League that our travel teams played in is no longer. We will be putting our travel teams in the EYC League so they have a place to play. The EYC league is revamping their program too. There will be different divisions so that it accommodates all levels of play rather than just “A, B, and C.” This is pretty much how our 16U program has been running for years. As for the Interlock program for 8U, 10U, and 13U we will also be putting them in the EYC program too. West York and Manchester will be playing in this program also. So, this being said, we will be evaluating this March 1, 2014 and March 2, 2014 all age groups from 8U to 16U. T-ball will not be evaluated, that will be our 5-6 year olds. Our age groups will be t-ball, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U. It will be mandatory to be evaluated to be able to play baseball for DAAA. We need to do this so we can put players in the proper divisions based on their individual ability. We will play baseball in the surrounding areas of York County. Another change for our organization is that you will no longer be able to request coaches or request to be with other players due to the evaluation process. As a board we wanted everyone to be aware of the changes coming before we start our sign ups. Please mark your calendars now for the evaluation dates. Softball will still have evaluations for the older girls and there will be no requests for coaches or to be with other players either. Softball evaluations will be on different days. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Please contact Brad Smith with any questions you may have at BSBlack3@comcast.net.
